Gotta Wart?

For about a year now Sloane has had a very large ugly friend. Literally the size of a raisin on her teeny tiny thumb. And recently a baby friend started to grow on her other thumb! We went to the dermatologist and had it completely removed only to have it grow back twice as big in about 3 months. I started researching online home remedies for warts. First we started with the duct tape remedy...had some results but before long we were burnt out with it.
Next we tried.....

We found a miracle in Apple Cider Vinegar!! Seriously if you or your kids are unlucky enough to deal with warts, this is your lucky day! We cut a cotton ball to the same size as her wart, soaked it in the vinegar and placed it on top, covered with a band aide and some medical tape right before bed. The next morning it was black! (gross I know) Two more times and I could tell this wart was on on its way out. Yesterday it fell off like a scab! A wart is a virus that some peoples immune systems don't recognize as a problem. So the apple cider vinegar irritates the wart enough to get your immune systems attention. In fact her other wart that we haven't treated has a few black spots on it! I think I am going to treat it anyway to be safe. So if you have a wart...give it a try!! It could take longer than 3 times but just keep it up...it WORKS! My cousins daughter had the same success.
Yea for Apple Cider Vinegar!!

Note: If you have not checked Hayley's blog you don't know she is raising two baby ducks she found near death. We are learning baby ducks grow at an extremely rapid rate.

While eating dinner....
Indi: Mom am I healthy?
Me: Yep
Sloane: Mom am I?
Me: Yep
Sloane: Maybe I am getting bigger like the ducks.
Me: You are
Sloane: I am!!
Indi: Sloane, one day you will be as big as me!
Sloane: I will??!!
Me: Sloane, one day you will be as big as me.
Sloane: Ah!! THEN maybe I could dump a drink!!
(she meant pour) Funny the things you don't know your kids wish they could do.

LOVE this love song.

One cool guitar.

Off To Belgium!

Cassidy left Tuesday for Mettet, Belgium to race in the biggest SuperMoto race in the world. There are 350 racers and 35,000 fans. This is his second year to go. Some of the most famous racers in the world from Motorcross to Moto GP race. Way Cool.

His race is Sunday...Good Luck Cass!

This is last year's race...quite the crowd.

I love this picture!

This is Cassidy in 3rd place out of 350 people running a quarter of a mile to their mountain bikes at a race in Moab last week. Cassidy and fellow SM racers Troy Herfoss, Chris Fillmore and Brandon Currie formed a 4 man team and entered the Men's Expert class. It was a 24 hour relay. Cass rode all through the night, a total of 80 miles. They finished 20th place over all. Not bad for four guys who don't race mountain bikes! Good thing Cassidy got all his athletic abilities and endurance from me. ha!

Comfy Cozy

Indi LOVES to be cozy.
She loves blankets, bathrobes, pillows, jammies, stuffed animals and the softer the better. Her most recent love is this pair of purple fuzzy socks she got for a good report at Parent Teacher Conf. I will always find her snuggled in bed with her favorite pillow, blankets just right...jammies, socks and always Cuppy her monkey. (her nickname is Monkey and she got the name Cuppy from the stuffed animal on Parent Trap Two, I finally asked her tonight where the name came from)... Anyway, she will even sleep in her fuzzy bathrobe sometimes. Well tonight she came home from Addie's house with a special gift on her ears....guess what she's added to her comfy repertoire. She is fast asleep with her new ear muffs on.
This is the other night.
Greg and I were down stairs, thinking all of our girls were alseep. I happened to look up the stairs and saw this....

Aspen is Beaux's little friend next door, she is 5 months older. While playing Aspen looked at Beaux with her binkie in her mouth. Imagine little munchkin voices.

Aspen "I don't need a binkie."
Beaux "I do. It make me happy."

just add a fairy godmother.....

Have you ever heard of Cinderella pumpkins?
I'm sure you will agree they are the cutest pumpkins you have ever seen.
I love them!!!
I will let you in on a little secret on where to find them. Turn onto 400 S. in Orem off of State St. and head West. There is a house on your right that has a yard filled with pumpkins. This is the only place I have found these. I hope one day I will have a spot to grow them....then you can buy them from me! Kelli and Andee showing off the surprise I brought them.

GLORY DAYS.....

1995
This photo makes me laugh because it looks like 1925. I am at the base of the middle stunt on the right. We are looking good in our huge heavy sweaters and our white chiffon bows in our hair.

Cheer Camp
all squads

Proof we have not lost it.

Don't try this at home...we are trained cheerleaders.
31 year olds in cheer outfits obnoxious?..probably....but we didn't care.

I have to start out and say I am very sad at the loss of all my pictures from this event. Greg mistakenly erased them while transferring them to a memory stick. And yes we have made up from the fight it caused. Thank you to Megan for hers. The alumni cheerleaders were invited to come back and cheer for Homecoming. Megan and I were the only ones from our squad proud enough of our heritage to come back. (we will excuse the two 9 month prego girls) Megan and I were a little leery about the whole wear our uniform issue. We tried to be creative...buying leggings and calf length tights to go under our skirts. But when Megan said, "I think we should go BIG (no pun intended) or go home." I thought 'why not'? It was so hilarious as she and I walked into that game. Us old ladies in our huge sweaters. We passed some boys and Megan said to me, "Did he just say scary?" Anyway we were pleased to see that we were actually the youngest alumni there. But the best part was seeing my little girls cheering, screaming and waving to me like I was a rock star.

The cheerleaders did a cheer where you yell your year you graduated and after Megan and I yelled ours we did a perfectly synchronized round off back handspring, just like the good old days! The crowd went surprisingly wild! It was sooo fun. After we high fived it big time...I sort of realized they were cheering soooo loud because they couldn't believe us OLD girls could do that. They just don't realize THEY are so young! Anyway it was a blast!
I love you Megan...thanks for not being afraid to relive the glory days with me.

Megan and I with our own home grown cheer squad!

I was really sad to loose the pictures with my sister Madison who is a JV cheerleader. It was so fun to be there with her. She called me later that night to tell me her guy friend who graduated last year, said that he saw her MOM cheering! It burst my bubble a little as you could imagine. A couple of the girls on her squad had their moms cheering, so I am just going to tell myself that's why he thought that. Here are some cute pics of her cheering.

Elk Lovin Woman

Craig and Kelli invited us to go horseback riding again right before Powell when the leaves were amazing. I went not caring if we saw one elk because I was mostly interested in the trees. Well, little did any of us know what we were in for. We hadn't been riding for 20 min when we came upon about 35 cows and 5 bulls. Two of them were gigantic! Not only that but we were listening to 4 others bugling from the mountains around us. The sound was unbelievable. Within minutes of us getting to them the two biggest bulls charged each other! One of them plowed over a cow sending her rolling to get to the other bull. Their horns clashed again and again. They were mad!! Then they would chase the smaller bulls away, making sounds that would echo in the beautiful mountains. I had no idea how witnessing this would impact me. It was such raw nature and I was shocked when it stirred up emotion in me. It was almost as powerful as when I saw Humpback whales swimming around and under our boat in Hawaii. We live here and forget what amazing things are happening in the mountains around us. Seeing creation at work was good for the soul.
Thank you Craig and Kelli!

One of the satellite bulls being chased off. (smaller bulls)
I wish our pictures did our trip justice, but they don't come close. We were all so amazed we just sat and stared. Then when the camera finally got brought out..the horses were moving quite a bit. Greg, and Craig who have been hunting for years and Kelli who has been riding in these mountains her whole life said they had never seen anything like it. I felt very lucky to be there. It was well worth having to shut my mouth and be quiet for a while.

Here I am imitating Kelli explaining how much she loves elk sounds. She is very passionate about elk sounds.

One amazing night....
