President Obama

Barack Obama's hand on the Bible that Abraham Lincoln was sworn in on.
My favorite part.

For family night Monday we talked about the Civil War, Slavery, Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jr. and how it all related to what an amazing election took place. To be honest, it was the first time I had ever talked about race to my children. Like they say...children don't see color. Including mine. I have never wanted to even let them have the idea of thinking that someone could treat or think of someone differently because of the color of their skin. After we talked Indi's eyes lit up and said, "Now I get 'Hairspray!' (the movie) I thought it was so cute.
I of course had to study up on my Civil War knowledge before our lesson. It was neat to study it as an adult, in school..history was not my subject. It really increased my appreciation of this inauguration and what our country has come through. It made Indi able to realize what she was witnessing and I hope she will remember it as she grows up. I actually let her go late to school because I wanted to make sure she saw it. I really feel Obama has inspired America to be better and I hope we all will be. He has a big job ahead of him.
I heard on TV that there was not one arrest among the million plus people who attended yesterday.
Welcome President Obama

I love your blog! The firm I work for did all of Obama's TV advertising and media strategy. I went to the inauguration swearing in ceremony and it was truly amazing. You must be one of few Dems in Utah County - My dad is the other one :) Indeed, exciting times for our country. We need to have a reunion with our moms!
